The Art of Sexy: Is It Fair?

"My breasts are too small."

"I want a more defined stomach."

"My butt needs to be bigger."

"I don’t like my lips."

We've heard them all before and the list goes on and on. Why aren't people simply loving the skin they're in? Have Americans simply become spoiled and greedy, or has America opened up a melting-pot for fake entrepreneurs? The real "butt" of the problem is that it's way too easy here in America for anyone to find a bootleg, unlicensed, "cosmetic surgeon". One who's ready and willing to play doctor to the first patient with cash-in-hand. Unfortuanelty, the black-market is filled with many underground "surgeons" who don't mind whipping up some of their artistry skills - As long as you've got the cash. Voila! You have the perfect body of your dreams! Or do you?

Cosmetic surgery has been on the rise for decades. It all started with the breast implants and then the tummy tuck. It quickly escalated from lip injections to the removal of a rib bone or two to add more abdominal definition. But what is this expensive art really doing to our bodies? Is it really worth the trouble in the end?

Altering the body for more sex appeal has been taken too far on too many new levels. Selfish cosmetic entrepreneurs have become more in tune to what the people and the trendsetters want; and they're determined to give it to them no matter the cost. There is something for everyone; from the low financial end, to the high ranking, A-list celebrity; and yes, risks are included on all ends.

Countless cosmetic surgeries have gone wrong in the U.S., yet only less than half are reported. In some cases, a number of surgeries that went wrong has resulted in the death of entertainment celebrities, as well as the average Jane Doe working a 9 to 5 at minimum wage.

  • So the ultimate question is: How do we solve the growing dilemma of this this black-market?

The answer is simple - Educating yourself on any cosmetic surgery is the most important key. Next, research, research, and research before making an unchangeable decision. Stick with reputable physicians, and if you feel the cost of this kind of surgery is out of your league, perhaps you should consider creating a savings for the surgery.

Remember - Everything that glitters, isn't gold. . .

Love your body just the way it is!
