Law of Sin

Everybody is guilty of some type of sin. Everyone has been judged by their sins on one or more occasions, and everyone has judged someone on their sins on more than one occasion. They may not admit it, but it's true. There have been misconceptions of sin, and judging sins between the world and the Bible for centuries.

Sin is sin, whether you are a murderer or petty thief. One sin may be considered worse than the other, but ALL sin is bad. For example; if you lie on an application but your logic is, “Well, at least I’m not killing anybody.” You’re basically saying that you're better than the murderer. The Bible has several scriptures that can help with understanding the concept of sin and judgment:

  • I Corinthians 6:9-10 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

  • I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • Matthew 12:31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

The first verse, lets us know it's possible for the murderer to make it into Heaven, but not the adulterer. How? The answer is the third verse listed above. This is why we're told not to judge one another because, “no sin is greater than the other”. It’s all about when and if you ask God to forgive you of those sins.

So many people are living in their sin because they believe the sin is unforgivable, but that's not the case. No matter WHAT your is, all you have to do is call on God; ask for forgiveness, and be renewed. And for the people who are judging others, let them judge! You better believe they have skeletons too!
